Why do you think technology integration is important?
How do you integrate instruction with technology?
Robbinsdale Middle School is currently using Think.com with students to provide them with a safe space to collaborate with students from other schools, in our case a school in Peru. They are writing captions for digital photos, writing about daily happenings at school, giving feedback, and creating audio files to upload and share. We have found it to be motivating for all students and especially useful to build literacy in our ELL students.
We are also foraging into podcasting using Audacity, laptops, and USB headset mics. The students are learning about content authoring, adding royalty free music and sound effects, balancing audio tracks, and exporting their creations as mp3 files. We don't have anything regular enough to do subscription feeds but hope to venture into podcasts of our school newsletter and morning announcements in the near future.
